Things to Know Before You Go
Town Point Park and TowneBank Fountain Park are fully accessible to individuals with disabilities. All Norfolk Festevents programs are accessible to persons with disabilities, with accessible parking available at all city-parking garages. In Town Point Park, wheelchair-accessible port-o-lets are located near the main entrances at Waterside Drive and Main Street and at Otter Berth near the Spirit of Norfolk. Individuals requesting special accommodations for events are asked to call the Norfolk Festevents office at 757-441-2345. Special seating accommodations can be requested the day of an event from any event security officer or uniformed staff member.
Photography and Videotaping-
Festivals and Events are photographed and videotaped for future promotional use by professionals employed by Norfolk Festevents who are easily identified by staff credentials. Festivals and Events are also photographed and taped by the news media for television and newspaper coverage and media staff are identified by their press credentials.
Lost and Found-
Festival attendees can check for lost items with event security or call Norfolk Festevents at 757-441-2345 during business hours, 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Lost persons should report to security at all events. No public address announcements regarding lost persons or items will be made during events.
Portable restrooms, including accessible units for physically impaired, are conveniently located within the park during special events.
Rules and Regulations-
All coolers, bags and other containers are subject to search
No alcoholic beverages may be brought into the event at any time

Inappropriate behavior is grounds for removal
City of Norfolk Codes and Ordinances Sections 25.2-60 through 25.2-99 govern this event. For the safety of all, the Norfolk Police may screen persons entering the event
No animals except service dogs
Persons must be at least 21 years of age with a valid photo ID to purchase and/or consume alcoholic beverages
Skates, skateboards and bicycles are not permitted
Re-entry only at designated entrance
Event hours are 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

What is the Virginia Beer Festival and how does it work?A
The Mid-Atlantic’s largest, oldest and most dynamic beer festival celebrates a diverse selection of more than 150 brews from around the world. America’s craft beer explosion combines with international tradition to create a unique culinary experience. Travel around the world in one afternoon in a taste bud tantrum along the Downtown Norfolk Waterfront at one of USA Today’s 2013 Best Beer Festivals! The Virginia Beer Festival is produced in partnership with Virginia Arts Festival and Norfolk Festevents.
General admission tickets provide access to Town Point Park for anyone 12 and older, and those 21 and over can purchase individual servings of select alcoholic beverages. Meals from a variety of food trucks and food vendors are also available for purchase during the event.
Tasting tickets provide all general admission privileges, a 6 oz. souvenir tasting glass, access to purchase pitchers, complimentary samples of more than 150 beers from around the world, as well as the ability to purchase a pitcher of beer. Pitchers are only available for attendees with a tasting ticket, and is not available for purchase by attendees with a general admission ticket.
How do I purchase a pitcher?
Pitchers are available for purchase during the event at the Pitcher Tent adjacent to the Merchandise Tent. Only attendees with a Tasting Ticket may purchase a pitcher or pitcher fill.

Can I pre-order my pitcher & fill?
Absolutely. In fact, by ordering your pitcher & fill early, you will save $5! Make sure you choose the option to add it to your cart when you by online, and if you already have your ticket or would prefer to purchase over the phone, call us at 757-282-2822.
What are specialty beers?
Virginia Beer Festival and Virginia Craft Beer Magazine has teamed up with a group of breweries to create three unique beers just for this event. Learn more about this project and the beers here.
Do I need an ID?
Yes, a valid identification which includes a photo is required for admission to the event.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Yes, however, glass containers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited from the park.
Do you have options for designated drivers?
Yes. Any person age 12 or over must at least have a general admission ticket to enter the park, but can obtain a "under 21" wristband, prohibiting them from consuming alcohol.
Can I purchase beer to take home?
No. This is a keg event and the ABC license prohibits sales for consumption off-site.
Will there be other alcoholic beverages like wine or hard cider?
Hard cider will be available for both tasting and pitchers fills. Wine-by-the-glass is also available for purchase.
Is food and drink included in my ticket price?
Food is purchased separately from our variety of vendors. Food prices typically range from about $4-$10 depending on the item purchased.
Do you accept credit card payments at the gate for admission to the festival?
No. Only cash is accepted at the gate for admission. Once inside, credit cards are accepted for merchandise sales.
Will there be an ATM on-site?
Yes, there will be at least one ATM on-site. It is conveniently located by the entrance gate.
Can I bring my children?
The Virginia Beer Festival is a family-friendly event, and children under 12 are free.
Can I bring my pet?
No, we do not allow pets except for assistance animals.
Can I bring my own chairs, blankets, etc.?
We encourage patrons to bring chairs and blankets for their comfort, but reserve the right to ask any patron to relocate if necessary for event operation.
What happens if it rains?
Sunday, May 20 is scheduled as a rain date in the event that Saturday, May 19 must be cancelled.
